Ten days ago your personal Year in Review landed, and you all did the thing you do every January: you posted your colourful poster collages, argued about your own five-star ratings, and discovered that yes, you really did watch that many films on Tuesdays. Now it's the community's turn. This is the collective Year in Review — what all of us, together, actually watched and loved in 2025, pulled from millions of dated diary entries.
A note on method, because you'll ask: everything here comes from dated diary entries logged by the end of January 1. A rating on its own doesn't count — if it's not in a diary, it didn't happen, statistically speaking. That's the same rule that governs your personal recap, and it's why the numbers mean something.
The headline number: 280
The median active member logged 280 films in 2025 — up from 244 the year before. That's not 280 different films; rewatches count, and thank goodness, because the rewatch is where taste actually lives. The most-rewatched film of the year was logged more than four times per person who touched it at all.
The average member watched more in 2025 than in any year we've measured. We are, collectively, getting worse at going outside and better at keeping a diary.
Tuesdays win. They always win.
For the fourth year running, Tuesday was the community's most-logged weekday. We have theories — cheap-ticket night, the post-Monday reward, the simple fact that nothing good is on — but the truth is we don't know, and we've stopped trying to explain it. Fridays came second. Sunday afternoons, surprisingly, came last.
Horror ate the year
The genre breakdown tells one clear story: the horror renaissance is not slowing down. Horror overtook drama as the most-logged genre for the first time, driven almost entirely by members aged 18–25 — the same bracket that makes up the largest slice of the community. The most-watched week of the entire year was, predictably, the third week of October.

Here's the part everyone scrolls to. From every rating cast on films released in 2025, weighted so a single passionate cult can't hijack the list, these were the year's best-loved:
- 1. A quiet, cold, three-hour thing that half of you called the best film of the decade and the other half fell asleep to. Consensus is a beautiful, contested thing.
- 2. The horror standout that made the October numbers what they are.
- 3. A debut feature nobody had heard of in January and everybody had logged by December — the exact motion this whole place exists to create.
